One night I dreamed a dream walking along the beach with my Lord

I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.

“Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I’m aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don’t understand why, when I need You most, You leave me.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you.” – Margaret Powers

Do you use a computer? How about a smart phone – Android or Apple?
Guess what? The software is keeping your apps/data safe.
Your app doesn’t even know it. You probably don’t know it – any don’t appreciate or understand it. It probably seems like magic.

In simple terms the operating system is trying very hard to let your app run and do what it was meant to – safe and secure as possible. The app themselves don’t actually know there is something bigger than the app taking care of them.

In our day to day life with the grind and struggles, it is easy to forget that we are a little like programs. We run on auto pilot, the routine repeats. Sometimes things go astray and suddenly our routine is replace by crisis.

Perhaps, during a crisis, we should think a little. Just like the app being kept safe, our creator and our God is taking care of us.

When things are tough for you and you are not sure when they will get better, just remember there is someone looking out for you. Just look at the foot prints.
